How Gift Aid works

If you are a taxpayer, then we can turn every £1 that you give us into approximately £1.28 and all you have to do is to complete a Gift Aid Declaration Form - painless to you, and the world of difference to us. Imagine if we raise £10,000 in this way, that would bring us an extra £2,800 from the Inland Revenue - just think what that alone could buy!

Target for Gift Aid - £1 per week

If all parents who are able to afford £1 per week were willing to support us, we could dramatically improve our fundraising. For example, if 150 parents agreed to do this, we would raise another £10,000 (more than our entire fundraising efforts in the recent past) with the involvement of 20% of parents. This extra money would make a huge difference to the school and would be of real benefit to all our children. There are four ways to help within this scheme:

• Make a single donation
• Complete the standing order for £4.33 a month (£1 a week)
• Complete the blank standing order for any amount you choose.
• Complete an application for ‘Payroll Giving’ through your employers if they operate a charitable payroll donation matching scheme (i.e. employee donates a regular amount to charity and the employer matches or doubles the donation). N.B. If this option is available this maximises the value to school.

Simply fill in the Gift Aid Declaration Form which includes the Standing Order Mandate and send it into the school office marked for the attention of ‘The Treasurer, Ashlyns School Association’.
