How do we raise the funds?

In order to reach our targets we have organised such events as car boot sales, a bingo night, our annual Craft Fair, a Tombola stall at the Berkhamsted Festival of Light, a Christmas Raffle, our annual Quiz night, a Summer Market and Grand Summer Draw and, a fantastic Fashion Show which featured in the local press.

We help provide refreshments at various school events including a Bar and BBQ at the annual Summer Concert.

How much does the ASA raise to benefit the students?

2008/2009 everyone worked together to raise over £13000

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, pupils and staff of the school who donated their time and money to help us achieve this.

Having last year raised money towards the first phase of a major refurbishment of the school stage, the Committee agreed to make further phases of the refurbishment our major focus for this year’s fund-raising.

As always, some smaller items were bought during the course of the year such as a new sewing machine for technology, springboards for the gym and a contribution of £2000 towards refurbishment of the tennis courts.

The ASA also donated just over £1200 towards the cost of the school’s first major stage production in six years, We Will Rock You. We were very proud to support this. The quality of production and performances were truly outstanding and the whole event involved a huge part of the school community.

2007/2008 everyone worked together to raise over £18,600

In order to reach this target events such as a car boot sale, our annual Craft Fair, a Tombola stall at the Berkhamsted Festival of Light, a Christmas Raffle, our annual Quiz night, a Grand Summer Draw and a sponsored ‘Fun Run 4 Sport’ to involve the whole school, were organised. The ASA helps provide refreshments at various school events including a Bar at the forthcoming annual Christmas Concerts. Of the money raised over £15,000 has been earmarked to improve and update the stage facilities in the main hall. Funds from last year and this year have been combined to refurbish the tennis courts in the very near future.

2006/2007 everyone worked together to raise over £27,000

This enabled the purchase of girls gymnastic equipment, new speakers for the music department, new goalposts and large tables for whole school use. A sum of £20,000 is going toward the school’s all weather astro-turf pitch.

2005/2006 everyone worked together to raise £20,000

This purchased much-needed whiteboard, projector and laptop facilities for all remaining departments, to install 9 further laptops in the Learning Resources Centre, to purchase 3 further PCs for the ICT suite and to assist with the purchase of ICT equipment for Music KS3 teaching.

2004/2005 everyone worked together to raise £14,000
